1 oz Crazy Horse Copper Round 2026

In the rugged heart of the Great Plains, Crazy Horse emerged as one of history’s most enigmatic and fiercely defiant warriors, a Lakota leader whose unyielding spirit became synonymous with Native American resistance against overwhelming odds. Born around 1840 into the Oglala Lakota band, he earned his name through visions and battlefield prowess, embodying the thunderous power of a wild horse in full charge.

Expanded description

Refusing to be confined to reservations or corrupted by broken treaties, Crazy Horse led his people in a series of brilliant guerrilla campaigns, most famously orchestrating the decisive victory at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876 alongside Sitting Bull, where Custer’s Seventh Cavalry was annihilated. A man of few words and profound integrity, he never allowed his photograph to be taken, preferring the purity of oral legend over the white man’s lens.

Betrayed and bayoneted by his own people under duress from U.S. forces in 1877, Crazy Horse died at just 37, his final words a haunting lament for his lost freedom. Yet his legacy endures as a timeless symbol of courage, autonomy, and the unbreakable bond between a warrior and his ancestral lands—an icon who proved that true greatness often burns brightest in the face of impossible defeat.
